About Rise Navigator

A global perspective on the future of the profession

A profession‑wide visioning effort exploring how finance and accounting can be the human in the lead over the next 15 years.

A profession where technology accelerates impact, skills unlock new influence, and trust, regulation, and public value become the profession's greatest differentiators.

Rise Navigator is a long-term strategic initiative examining how the finance and accounting profession is changing — and what it will need to thrive in an increasingly complex, connected, and technology-enabled world. The initiative examines professional perspectives on:

  • Changing expectations of the profession
  • Skills, capabilities, and roles over time
  • The impact of technology, data, and automation
  • Trust, ethics, and public interest considerations
  • Regulation, reporting, and assurance in a changing environment

This platform provides access to those insights through both a published report and an interactive chat experience.

How the Rise2040 Vision Report was created

We recognise the importance of integrity and trust for our profession, and we continued that approach with how we constructed the report. We took an AI-first approach to capture the insights from our 6,000+ strong community of participants in the initiative. To preserve those insights, we used AI to drive the outputs of the results, and dig in further to create actionable takeaways that can be applied now when thinking about the future. We did not alter the outputs of the report — it is a clean, true representation of the global finance and accounting profession's view of the future.

The Rise Navigator interactive experience

Rise Navigator features a Generative AI model created by the AICPA and CIMA to capture and synthesize the data from over 6,000 professionals across 25 countries, captured during live sessions looking at how the accounting and finance profession will change up to 2040 and beyond. It uses conversational language to answer questions about the data gathered, and provides plain-language responses while leveraging the collective thoughts across a global community.

It does so by providing a secure, responsive, world-standard Large Language Model (LLM) that can be used by students, members, and other organizations of the global accounting and finance profession.
